May: Keeping up with the lawn
Following on from last month, your lawn should be recovering from the colder months frost and any patches you had seeded should be growing. Thriving in the sunshine, you may notice the grass is growing more rapidly, which means this month it’s time to get in to a routine of mowing once a week to your desired length. Try to avoid cutting the lawn too short, as you may end up weakening the grass.
As a guide, fine grass is best when you cut to about 6-13mm and ornamental grass 13-25cm.
