Gardening Tips
July: Summer Lawn Care
You should have gotten in to the routine of mowing once a week to get the best out of your lawn. In July your lawn also needs more attention to keep it from suffering the heat. If it is quite hot you should mow to a slightly longer length to what you have been, this can prevent it from drying and protects it more for the wear and tear caused by increased use of the garden.
Remember to give the lawn a liquid summer lawn fertilizer to keep it growing healthy and green as well as make use of the sprinkler. To help save water, you could use a Sprinkler Measure/ Rain Gauge. This goes in the turf near your sprinkler and fills up with water giving you an accurate measurement of what you have used. Once it fills to around 13mm you should have sufficiently watered enough to get to the grass roots.
